Do You Have What It Takes?

Are you interested in getting involved with your Alumni Association on a greater level? The Alumni Association is currently accepting nominations for the newly created Alumni Advisory Council. This Council will be made up of alumni volunteers who are interested in benefiting and supporting the University and Association. Council members will be selected by September 2009 and will serve a two-year term.

Please read the full mission of the Advisory Council and the
complete by-laws before applying.

To nominate an alumnus (or yourself) for the Alumni Advisory Council, please complete the 
nomination form and submit it to Michele Berg at Michele.berg@erau.edu by July 31, 2009.


MISSION

The mission of the Alumni Advisory Council is to create a vision that will serve as the cornerstone for the Alumni Association in engaging, cultivating and serving the alumni of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

PURPOSE

The purposes of the Alumni Advisory Council shall be to:

  • Promote communication among and between alumni, alumni chapter leaders, faculty and staff members, students, administrators, and such university boards, councils and advisors as may pertain;

  • Provide alumni an opportunity to become involved in the conduct of university alumni events and programs, particularly in their own geographical region through their alumni chapter and the Alumni Advisory Council;
  • Assist and be supportive of the various roles of traditional alumni activities including the admissions-recruiting process, mentoring new alumni, identifying opportunities for voluntary participation in alumni affairs, and to offer guidance in defining, planning, guiding and executing alumni affairs and alumni activities;
  • Support and promote the fund raising and advancement efforts of the University

MEMBERSHIP

Members of the Alumni Advisory Council are individuals who are alumni or specifically appointed advisory persons with an interest in the support and enhancement of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.  Criteria for membership include; high caliber professionals with strong corporate contacts, able and willing to identify and cultivate corporate sponsors.  Potential to be future leaders on other boards ie; Presidents Advisory Board and Board of Trustees.

Members will be recommended by the Alumni Association to the President, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, for approval and will serve a two year term.
