On Friday, April 3, 2009, eleven Alumni Chapter leaders arrived in Prescott, Ariz. for the three-day Chapter Leaders Conference held on the Prescott campus. On Friday evening, the Chapter leaders welcomed the soon-to-be-alumni at the Senior Night Out in downtown Prescott at the Hotel St. Michael. Nearly 180 new alumni were there enjoying southwest fare, a live band and great conversation.
Chapter leaders met on Saturday to discuss new eaglesNEST functions and ways to implement the community service day - International Eagle Day - where all alumni chapters are encouraged to participate in an activity that improves their local communities.
In addition, Michele Berg, Director of the Alumni Association, presented on the newly created Alumni Association and the strategic plan of the association over the next year, as well as the introduction of the New Alumni Advisory Council. Dan Montplaisir, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, presented on University goals, interesting facts, figures and trends and the campaign report.
Alumni Chapter leaders had several hours to network with each other and discuss ideas for events and best practices for their respective Chapters. The conference attendees were treated to dinner with a great view at the Prescott Resort Saturday evening. The conference concluded on Sunday morning with a breakfast and great speech from Chicago Chapter leader Tim Perry.
"Thank you to all the Alumni Chapter Leaders who attended," said Chris Carta, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. "We look forward to working with everyone in the future."
