SUMMARY:'Blast from the Past:' Two of ERAU's First Female Grads to Reflect on History
DESCRIPTION:Monday, March 5In August 1967, Linda Colgan and Trish Nowicki were two of only four women to enroll during the first semester that Embry-Riddle's residential campus began accepting female students in Daytona Beach. Next week, they will return to campus to share their insights about attending the male-dominated university where they earned bachelor's degrees in aviation management. (Pictured with staff from the Informer--the predecessor publication to The Avion newspaper--are Colgan located front and center, with Nowicki behind her and to the right. Colgan and Nowicki founded The Avion student newspaper, which is still published today.)Their presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be moderated by Marc  Bernier, local radio host and assistant to Embry-Riddle President John P. Johnson. The event is sponsored by the University Alumni Relations office and the Women's Center. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
